What about other teas?

If the plant, flower, or leaf that you are steeping doesn’t contain the tea plant, it is a tisane. Fruit and herbal tisanes are mostly caffeine free. Herbal tisanes are known for their medicinal qualities. For example, the well-known chamomile tisane is known for its calming affects. Rooibos (ROY-bos), another caffeine-free tisane, comes from the red bush, a plant indigenous to South Africa, and is known to aid digestion. Yerba Mate from Argentina, technically a tisane, has as much caffeine as coffee, but does not produce the caffeine-related crashes that some people experience with coffee.
